Orthodontic Assistant Program
Our Orthodontic Assisting Program follows an approved curriculum with a specialized focus on orthodontics. It combines flexible online learning with hands-on training on Saturdays, giving you the opportunity to develop the technical skills needed to succeed as an orthodontic assistant. Embrace Academy, in partnership with Embrace Orthodontics, provides all the training and materials required to prepare you for a rewarding and exciting career in orthodontics. You’re going to love it!
What will you learn in this course?
- Basic principles of Orthodontics
- Dental anatomy and dental terminology
- Types of malocclusion and orthodontic appliances
- Taking impressions, scanning and laboratory work
- Infection control and biosafety
- Instrument preparation & sterilization
- Use of Software, recording and monitoring orthodontic treatments.
- Placement and removals of ligatures, arch-wires and braces.
Externhip
Our orthodontic students have the opportunity to rotate at Embrace Orthodontics, gaining hands-on experience with a variety of procedures, patient care responsibilities, and roles within the practice. If you prefer, you may also choose to complete your rotation at another orthodontic office. The program includes a 40-hour externship that’s not only educational. But also fun!
Job Placement Assistance
Embrace Academy will offers assistance to help you transition smoothly into the work force after completing the program. It all starts with your resumé and we’re here to help. We’ll guide you through building a strong resumé and offer suggestions to make it stand out. Through our partnerships with local dental practices and potential employers, we’ll support you in finding a employment.
